1- Order a physical print: - Source a local printing company that offers Art prints / Giclée print on white paper (150 to 300gr) - The JPG source file must be printed at 90cm * 60cm scale. - Frame the print: I recommend white 15mm wooden framing with 5cm white matte. - Hang the print on the wall: The vertical center of the print should be at average eyesight (1,60m). ------------------------------------------------ 2- Source the video projector: - You need a regular home video projector around 2000-3000 lumens, with hdmi input. ------------------------------------------------ 3- Projector position: suggestions: There are 3 options to position the projector, the choice of lens depends on this: 1- Projector on ceiling, far away. Long (4:1) or regular lens (2:1) with zoom, position is flexible, about 4m away from print. 2- Projector on ceiling or pedestal, close. Wide lens (0,5:1), projector should be about 1m from print. 3- Projector on ceiling or pedestal below the print: Super wide lens (0.3:1) very close, projector is just above or below print. Ceiling or pedestal ? - Projector should be rigged on ceiling just above the top edge of the print (2,10 - 2,50m) - As an alternative projector can be setup on a pedestal (height around 1m) ------------------------------------------------ 4- Setup the video projector - Make sure the projection covers a little more than the entire print (adjust the zoom). - The projection area should be as rectangular as possible to minimize distortion. - Make sure the projection is sharp (adjust the focus). ------------------------------------------------ Setup the software / projection: - Connect a computer (pc, mac or linux) to the projector with HDMI cable. - Open the NFT in browser, enable fullscreen on the projector output. - Right click to remove background image and start mapping. - Left click to show the 4 red corners on white background. - Drag each corner of the video to match the corners of the print. - Fine tune the corners until video matches perfectly. - Right click to leave edit mode, the video starts on a black background. - You may adjust/lower the projector's brightness (remote + menu) until the projection appears to be subtle. - Your projection is ready. Hold the middle button 3 seconds to reset the mapping corners.
